Joey, the founder of PLACE Architects, is a registered architect in New York, USA, with three decades of international experience. Her diverse portfolio spans commercial mixed-use, hotel, retail, office, and residential projects, transforming urban landscapes into sustainable, commercially thriving environments that meet evolving market demands. Joey’s passion lies in delivering design excellence that drives long-term value for stakeholders.
A career highlight includes leading the KK100 mixed-use development in Shenzhen — a pioneering urban regeneration project that reshaped the city’s skyline. Across Asia, her work has focused on asset enhancement and urban renewal, prioritizing sustainability, user-centered design, and commercial success.
As founder of PLACE Architects, Joey has guided the studio to award-winning design outcomes, including Best Mixed Use Development at the 2019 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards.
She also founded PLACE Developments, a strategic advisory firm that complements PLACE Architects’ design practice by guiding developers to elevate urban projects globally.
Joey holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies from the University of Washington.

Bailey is passionate about food, and loves to interact with people, he shows his gratitude and affection by flapping his ears. Marley prides himself on showing attention to detail, he is agile, a couch warmer and never misses out when treats are on offer.
As PLACE Ambassadors Bailey and Marley make regular appearances at the PLACE ARCHT studio. Their unique individuality makes them a popular addition to the studio. They even have their own Instagram page! Favourite pastimes include, running, wrestling and napping.
